You may wonder why this is a separate page instead of being included on every page as is typical of most blogs. For SEO purposes it’s better not to have sitewide links to other sites. It really doesn’t help the sites you’re linking to because search engines don’t value sitewide links as much, and it certainly doesn’t help you, because you lose too much link juice if you have excessive links on every page of your site. The best way is to have a separate page with a list of your recommended sites. If you still prefer to have the links on each page of your blog and are on WordPress, you can use the Nofollow Blogroll SEO Plugin to automatically add rel=”nofollow” to non-homepage blogroll links, allowing you to give some link love to your favorites while improving your search engine optimization.
